Congratulations to our Apprentice Administrator Danielle Beasley who has been named Employee of the Month for April!
Danielle has been with us for almost a year in our administration department and has been studying Business Administration at Croydon College one day a week alongside her work.
Since joining, Danielle has become an important part of what is a very busy department, offering help to her colleagues and being a friendly face to those around her.
Her colleagues have highlighted her outstanding contribution and quality of work, calling her a ‘WIZ KID’ in the office when it comes to dealing with queries.
Danielle is one of many apprentices at Chequers all contributing in their own way to our continued success.
Well done once again and keep up the great work!
Today we teamed up with Croydon Works to take part in their Get Working Job Workshop at the Whitgift Centre.
Helping the Croydon community find employment opportunities and develop their skills is and always has been an important part of our mission statement at Chequers.
Our Recruitment Officer Arshia and two of our Business Administration Apprentices Joe and Marcus spent the day meeting job seekers, telling them about all our opportunities and how we could help them.
We were also joined at the workshop by representatives from Croydon College and Croydon Council.
The week-long event organised by Croydon Works in partnership with AmicusHorizon has seen a number of training providers and employers offer guidance and advice on how to find employment.
Croydon Works job brokerage is a free recruitment service helping both Croydon residents and employers alike by hosting a number of workshops like this throughout the year.
We are incredibly proud to announce that we are sponsoring a category at this year’s Croydon Business Excellence Awards.
Having been successful in the ‘Apprentice Employer of the Year’ category in years gone by, we have decided to put ourselves forward as sponsors this year as we look to find 2017’s winner.
Chequers Chairman Gary Jeal said, “The board and I are delighted to be sponsoring this award. Over the last 30 years countless young apprentices have come through our door, fuelling our continued growth and growing within the company themselves.”
As part of our role as sponsors we will be on the judging panel for the award and will be looking out for some excellent apprenticeship schemes.
Gary Jeal said, “Apprentices remain an integral part of Chequers as we work toward a bright future. We’re so proud to be supporting this year’s award, and I look forward to hearing about some of the fantastic apprenticeship schemes being offered by Croydon businesses.”
